This last and final part of the book had so many different events and feelings going on that I had a hard time grasping onto it all. Everything happened so quickly that I had to take time after I finished the book to really think about it all. It seems as though so many important events happen during the end of all books, so that questions can be answered. After I organized all of my thoughts, I realized that Gemma really had learned to love the land, loneliness, and Ty even though she never would have admitted it nor even thought about it. My previous inference about how this book would turn into a cheesy love story was both partially correct and wrong. Gemma did eventually discover that she had some feelings of love towards Ty at the end, but Gemma and Ty never really got to express their feelings of love towards each other, so this book did not end up to be a very cheesy love story. The letter that Gemma wrote to Ty at the end of the book was very moving. It made everything so much easier to understand, and I think that it will help both Ty and Gemma move on, even though I know that they will never forget each other nor the life they shared. I was really hoping that the book would explain what happened during the trial or when Gemma arrived home, but I guess that I will never know unless the author writes a sequel. Overall, I admit that I never expected what happened during the end of this book to occur.
