In the very beginning of the book, I found Ty really strange. He was staring at Gemma the whole time, and even she knew something was up with him. Ty seemed as if all he wanted was Gemma, which was true. When he was drinking coffee with her, he seemed like he was about to have a mental breakdown, which I understand because as a kidnapper, you probably have do commit that crime multiple times to not be worried about the effects of it. Honestly, I felt as if he played his act very well, and was very convincing as a caring guy. Ty seemed to always doubt himself throughout these 62 pages. He knew deep down that Gemma would probably never except him,and I think that is why he let her try to escape. As the old saying says, " If you love something, set it free," and it seems as if Ty seems to love Gemma even though he talked to her for the first time ever at the airport. I also think that Ty is not exactly right in the mind because for anyone to be a kidnapper you have to have a crazy side in my opinion. He has also been living in the wilderness all alone for most of his life, so he probably turned a little mental somewhere during that time. In conclusion, I am very excited to see if Ty will try and go after Gemma and not let her escape that easily.
